Lifetime Achievement Award 2024

ASHP is committed to recognizing distinguished Hispanic/Latino professionals for their outstanding contributions to the field of Psychiatry and Mental Health. Each year ASHP honors a group of individuals for their careers, lifetime service, dedication, outstanding community projects, clinical work, and/or education; that has impacted the lives of Hispanic/Latinas with mental illness in US/Latin America/Globally.

Call for nominations

The ASHP is accepting nominations for the 2024 Lifetime Achievement Award in Academic Psychiatry. This award will be presented during the ASHP annual meeting in New York, May 2024. 

Selection Process

In 2024 we are recognizing a group of physicians, clinicians and mental health professionals who have dedicated their careers to  education at every level from the beginning of medical school through lifelong learning for psychiatrists and mental health professionals.   Eligible professionals include long-term (e.g. 20 years or more) (psychiatrists, physicians, psychologists, social workers, nurses, counselors), leaders in education.  We seek to honor Hispanic/Latinx professionals who have gone above and beyond the call of duty serving Hispanic/Latinx populations.

Eligibility

All applicants should be Hispanic/Latinx professionals(e.g.  assistant,  associated, professors. Emeritus professors, with a minimum of 20 years of faculty appointment). Applicants from all mental health fields are eligible (psychiatry, psychology, social work, neuroscience, and related fields).

  • Certificate
  • 3-year membership
  • Award Presentation: Presented during ASHP’s Annual Meeting
  • Video and Pictures of the Recognition on the ASHP website

Application Submission

To submit nominations, please send via email to castilrb@mail.uc.edu the following files:

  • Updated CV
  • One page file describing candidates background including his/her career impact in education
  • Candidate’s recent picture

 Submission deadline: January 31, 2024.

Notification of acceptance to receive the Award in New York: March 15th, 2024

ASHP 2023 Service Award

We recognized a group of physicians, clinicians, and mental health professionals who have dedicated to serving Hispanic/Latino children, adolescents, and families (e.g. child psychiatrists, child psychologists, child neurologists, neuropsychologists, social workers, nurses, and other professionals in the field of child psychiatry). ASHP professionals who have gone above and beyond the call of duty, serving Hispanic/Latino populations.
